First Rawls Visit to GA

Erin, Chad and Mallory came to visit us this week. They arrived late on Sunday night and left Wednesday afternoon. They were travelers on a mission in a few days. They went to Monticello (IN for those non-Hoosiers reading this) for Erin's friend Shannon's wedding. She was a bridesmaid so they had a jammed packed weekend. After a night of partying, well at least watching others party, they left early on Sunday to come to our house for a few days. Even though I thought they were completely crazy for driving down here after heading to IN for only 3 days, I was glad they did.

Erin and Chad are Rylan's favorite visitors. He talks about them all the time and loves when they visit or we visit them. When they got pregnant I was a little worried when Mallory arrived he'd be jealous of her getting their attention. Boy was I wrong. He loves Mallory and feels that he has to watch over her while she's with us. It's really amazing how great Rylan is with Austin and Mallory. This time last year, we went on vacation with Erina and Chad, and Rylan was the only child with us. Now there are three and he is such a great helper and leader for them. What a great boy we have!

Since Erin and Chad were here for only two days really, and during those two days it was raining, we didn't do much but relax at the house. We did take them out to a few local restaurants and Chad went to the Tracon with Nate to see how the facility operated. (If you don't know Chad, he's also an Air Traffic Controller in Memphis.) Erin, Mom, the kids & I all went to see Nana. Erin had gotten the rest of Nana's clothes and some personal photos from her house when she was in IN. We were all a little worried that Nana would realize that we had gotten that from her house, but she didn't. She had no idea that any of the items we brought were hers. We went back again Wednesday to see her and she told us that someone had dropped off a lot of pictures and clothes for her. Proof again, we made the right decision to move her closer to us.

Our visit with the Rawls' was short and sweet, but we enjoyed every minute. My mom left with them to stay there for three weeks. She was very sad to leave the boys, but will have a great time spoiling Mallory.

While Rylan always wants to hang on Uncle Chad, Austin took awhile to warm up to him. He's starting to show a smile...looks like they'll be buds soon!
