School Christmas Parties

The boys had their Christmas program the Thursday before they got out of school (2 weeks ago today). The Kindergarten played 'O Christmas Tree' with the bells. I started to cry because all I could think of is how grown up Rylan is. He did great and was really focused on playing his part well. Then all the other groups came out and they sang five or six songs. Rylan got into all the motions and was singing his heart out, a far cry from the past two years. Austin stood still, didn't smile, didn't sing and pretty much looked like he was ready for it to be over. I think next year he'll probably get into it a little more like Rylan has over the past few years.

The boys' got out of school last week. Austin's last day was Thursday. At his class party they enjoyed making an ornament, getting presents from their teachers and lots of yummy snacks (cheese cubes were the biggest hit).

On Friday Rylan had his party. His class heard a Christmas story, played pin the nose on Rudolph and sang Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer while passing books around and then opening the one they ended up with (Rylan desperately wanted the book we brought but had to trade at the end). The party ended with singing Happy Birthday to Jesus and eating lots of goodies.
