Christmas Pictures

Whew, I finally can upload pictures from Christmas! We bought a new camera, and my the household tech had to show me not only how to work the camera but how do download pictures. And then of course after successfully downloading, I had to learn how to get it transferred to jpeg in order to upload them. What happened to the technology I know and love?!

On behalf of the Taylor house, we hope you had a great Christmas and New Year! We kicked off Christmas with a scare and a run to the ER. On Wednesday night (12/23) my mom (Gigo) fell down a flight of stairs. Not only did she manage to crack a joke after she fell. ("I guess the Gypsy's won't take me now.") She also managed to only break her left hand. After a long, late night at the ER we made it home and got mom up to bed. Like the stubborn woman she is, she didn't want any pain killers so needless to say she was in a lot of pain on Thursday and Friday. About 4:30 am on Wednesday night/Thursday morning she lost her balance while attempting to use the restroom and fell backward into the tub. After nearly 2 hours of yelling I finally get up with the kids and heard her. Thankfully Nate hadn't left for work yet so he helped get her out. She slept all day Christmas Eve and Christmas day, only getting up for meals and to watch the kid's open gifts. Since the accident her balance is still off and her neurologist thinks the two falls within 12 hours knocked her inner ear off balance. We are awaiting orders to start physical therapy to get things back to normal. As for her arm, she has a sweet makeshift cast that consists of a splint and two ace bandages that we wrap daily for her. She couldn't get a cast since she broke her hand on her dialysis arm. We took her back to the ER Christmas night after she complained of a hurt shoulder and thought she may have broken a rib. Thankfully nothing else was injured and she did leave this time with painkillers.

As for the rest of the family we had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas. We made lots of goodies on Christmas Eve and enjoyed our Christmas dinner that night as well. I especially liked this idea so I could completely relax on Christmas Day only preparing normal meals like any other day. The boys enjoyed hanging out in the jammies all day and playing with all of their new toys.

Here are some pictures from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

Christmas Eve
It is a tradition to open new pajamas on Christmas Eve from Gigo. After everyone opened their new pajamas, we let the boys open one gift each.

Ry with his weed wacker.

Ausin getting a chance to open his own gift uninterrupted.

Ry rocking his new Christmas jammies with matching robe.

Christmas Day
We started a tradition last year that the boys pick out wrapping paper to send to Santa in early December. This was mainly so the boys would know right away whose gift was whose. Santa even wrapped the gifts for both of them using half of each paper. This is the second year we did this and Rylan knew right away what was his, and he helped sort out Austin's gifts too.

Ready for Christmas to start! (Not everything under the tree was from Santa, of course!)

Anxious to see what Santa brought.

Relaxing on their new recliners from Mommy & Daddy while opening their stockings.

Austin mastered opening up his candy cane very quickly.

Diving into the gifts.

Modeling some of the hats Santa brought them.

Checking out Austin's new toy.

Ready to roll.
