Coincidences happen every day. You are thinking of an old friend and then they call you. The minister's sermon is relevant to what is going on at that moment in your life. Whether you think it's a coincidence or not, we've all experienced it.
The past few weeks have had several ups and downs and I relied on a few people to help me get through. A few days ago I had been thinking about everyone that passed away too early and how much I miss them, my dad especially. I didn't talk about this with anyone, and the next morning I got an email from my sister with a letter my dad had written. I had thought about that letter hours before I got the email. Erin had randomly come across and remember I asked if she had a copy last year. So she typed it up and emailed it to me. This was just what I needed at that moment. The one person I needed to hear from, that I thought was impossible to hear from, sent me a reminder that he is still here. I planned on finding a copy and posting this on a special day relevant to his life. But I think I need to post it now, when I needed to hear his words the most.
Life is to be fortified by many friendships. The time we have spent growing up as friends and classmates has been very special. Time will undoubtedly separate many, if not most of us. We will all face the uncertainties of tomorrow. Whether you face friend or foe, good or bad, success or failure, life is truly what you make of it. Each of us has our hopes, dreams, and desires. Just remember, in life there are no overachievers, only under estimators. Always be willing to take the risk: to open your heart, to laugh, to cry, to love, to believe in God, to be alive and share with family and friends. We all desire success in one form or another, a good job, fame, wealth,a new car, good health. The list is as long as your imagination. Our real success often appears in our response to the pain, the loss or disappointment that enters our life. Always chose to be a doer. Get up and challenge life after each failure or disaster, real or imagined. Be kind to yourself as well as to others. Find out what you like to do and then do it! It does not matter whether it is your vocation or avocation, he or she who lives their life's passion will be the happiest. Remember the past, the good and bad that has shaped your life, but do not live in the past. Most of us do not get the chance to choose how we are going to die or when. But we can choose how we are going to live. And so my friends, I wish only the best for each of you. Have a good attitude and a positive outlook on life. Live each day to the fullest. May God bless and keep you.
Until we meet again... Alan

ReplyDeleteDawn,
ReplyDeleteHey! I know exactly what you are talking about. That is so awesome that you received it as you did. How special! We all know that it isn't easy dealing what we have been dealt but our strength and faith pull us thru.
We think of you and your family often!
Have a good day.
