While getting ready to wheel my mom out of the eye doctor, I say to Austin who is standing against the door. "Hey buddy, open that door up so we can leave." There is a man standing between us at the check in counter who apparently doesn't realize Austin is there. He looks at me shocked/embarrassed and apologizes then goes to the door, which is now being held open by Austin. I say back, "Uh thank you, but I was talking to my son." I laughed all the way home. Maybe I need to reconsider my use of the word buddy....
Or maybe you should just start calling everyone buddy to get them to open doors for you :)
