Baseball Camp

Chevrolet put on a free 3 hour baseball clinic for Atlanta area kids last week at Turner Field.  We went Monday (June 10) along with several kids from Rylan & Austin's league.  Two of Ry's school  buddies also went that day so we definitely wanted to go on a day that they would know some other kids.  Nate took off of work that day to go.  The only let down was it was rainy so they couldn't go on the field, so we only got to get pictures of the throwing/pitching and the Q&A in the dugout.  However, they did get to go to the batting cages in the tunnels where the players practice before the game, so that was exciting for them.  Of course, the remainder of the week was sunny and clear, but at least they got to go to the camp, had a blast and learned some new things.

In the dugout they got to ask former Braves players questions.  Pitcher Pete Smith and outfielder Brian Jordan.  I recognized Brian Jordan because he is a sport caster for the Braves pre and post game.  And just realized as I was typing it what his name is Neena....

All the players got a snack after it was all done.  The "snack" was a burger or hot dog, chips and a drink.  We had planned on eating at the Varsity afterwards with some other Sharpsburg league kids.  So the adults ate and the kids got ice cream.
