Tough Boys
Tonight Rylan had football practice and as usual, Nate, Austin and I went to watch. There is a hornet's nest in the ground where our team's parents sit. For the past week we walked by with no problems. Not tonight though. Nate went past no problem, Rylan started screaming and threw his equipment, just then I get stung between the legs and then poor Austin starts screaming. Rylan had gotten stung in his hairline by his forehead. Austin, unfortunately, was covered in yellow jackets. I picked him up and rapidly Nate and I were just hitting them off of him. Parents from all around were trying to help us out. Rylan is in pain crying, I put an ice pack on his head and thankfully his coach was standing with him while we were frantically getting the yellow jackets off of Austin. After they were all off, I left with Austin to get him cleaned up at home. Once we were done with Austin and I left Nate realized he also has been stung several times. Austin calmed down after I cleaned and drugged him up. Rylan ended up practicing the entire 2 hours of football and even tackled one of the biggest kids on his team. All the coaches hi-fived him and he was so proud of himself. I'm happy that both boys are not allergic to yellow jackets (neither have ever been stung before). I'm so proud of them for being tough even though I'm sure they were both in a lot of pain. And thankfuly their not wimps like me. If you grew up with me, you know what I'm talking about. ;)
