Disney Vacation

I'm finally catching up on my past due entries! We enjoyed our first ever vacation just the four of us this past December. We left the day after Thanksgiving, just told the boys we were going on an adventure. When we got to Florida we stayed a few miles away from Disney but carefully avoided all of the billboards. The next they morning when we driving towards the theme parks, Rylan looked around and said, "I know where we are now, we're at Disney World!" When I asked if he was excited, he said "Yeah, let's go already." When we went to our hotel that first afternoon for a nap, the boys were thrilled with our pirate themed room. They would have been happy staying at the resort all week. Oh the little things that make them smile...and me smile.

With so many pictures, here are some of the highlights!

We went to every character meal they offered (well minus the princess themed ones). Our very first stop when we arrived to Disney was a breakfast with Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Donald & Goofy. The boy the table over had an autograph book and Rylan wanted to get one too. So before our next character dining he picked one out at the gift shop (not there were a lot of options for boys, but he was thrilled). He loved getting everyone's signatures. Here are a few of the characters we met.

Meeting Buzz and Woody was the biggest objective we had for this trip. Buzz and Woody are the boy's FAVORITE. I mean they dressed up like them for Halloween, Ry had a Toy Story party and their room is decked out Toy Story and Cars. So we HAD to make sure we saw them. We went to Hollywood Studios two days. The first day the line was over an hour long. So the second time we went, which also was our last day in Florida, we decided to have Nate snag a spot in line during the character's break. We still had to wait 30 minutes but it was so worth the wait. Austin hadn't napped yet and it was rapidly approaching dinner time. The only thing that kept him going was the reminder that we were waiting to see Buzz and Woody. It was neat in line there were several photo ops that were related to all of the Toy Story movies. It was definitely the highlight to their entire trip, and the perfect ending to our awesome vacation!

Happy he met Buzz and Woody but he was more than ready for his nap!

Snapshots

Nate thought it'd be funny to have the boys pose like they're saving the other from the jaws of the dinosaur. It looks like they're feeding the other to it instead. We were laughing the entire time these pictures were taken.

Austin's first roller coaster ride! He cried as soon as we got off the ride because he wanted to stay on. We ended up riding it 4 times before stopping, only because there was no line during that time.

Pizza Planet! Longest line to order food, but the boys were so happy!

Both boys were thrilled to look around the Nemo exhibit. Our trip last March we had to leave quickly before they could really look around. And Rylan definitely remembered that he hadn't gotten to walk through it last time.

Making our own video games. Rylan LOVED it!

Light parade at Magic Kingdom. We got a great spot in the front row and a few characters came up to the boys.

Fireworks at the Magic Kingdom. Austin was awake both days for the fireworks, which he had missed in our March trip. He loved every minute, yelling. "Look, look Mommy! Look, look Daddy!"

  1. Love all the pictures- my favorite is Austin using the cotton candy as a pillow.
