Brain Vacation
While we on vacation, I think that Nate and I had moments where our brains were on vacation too. We both did some things that were really out of character for us. I had two incidents that could have really ruined more than just the day for my family. First mess-up, we were at Epcot and Erin & Chad were riding a ride while Nate, mom & I all watched Rylan, Austin & Mallory. Nate took Ry in a fire simulator thinking it'd be a few minutes, which really turned into 20 minutes. So I'm watching Austin (21 months) and Mallory (15 months) with mom who is on a scooter, and not exactly speedy if both little ones start running in different directions. Erin & Chad return, Nate is still in the simulator with Ry and Erin & mom decide to head to the restroom. When Nate gets out, all of us go outside to wait for Erin & mom to return. More than 5 minutes later they are back and we head to our next ride. Nate soon realizes that his backpack is not on the stroller. Oh yes, I had walked away leaving the backpack that had my wallet, and our camera in it. Nate was not very pleased when we got back to the simulator area and the backpack was MIA. We talked to the workers nearby and they got the security guard who thankfully had the backpack and all of it's contents. A patron had walked by and told a worker that got the security guard to take it to a safe place. Thank God everything was there! So the next day, we are at another park and afterwards, Nate & I stop at the Walgreens by the house we were renting to pick up some last minute things that the group needed. It's nearly 11:00 pm, Nate gives me his wallet and I go in alone. I get everything on the list, return to the car put it all in the back seat and we head home. Oh and I should mention, that I leave Nate's wallet, in the cart, which is in the parking lot of a 24 hour Walgreens at 11:00 at night! Of course, neither of notice the wallet is not with us. So the next morning, we all get up and are rearing to go for a day at the highly anticipated Magic Kingdom. We plan on leaving early so we can walk in right at 9:00 am. Things are going smoothly until Nate wonders where his wallet is. Of course, I am positive that I didn't leave it in the cart. We search everywhere and it is still missing. I start to get nervous as I realize I could have possibly left it in the cart at Walgreens. So I call the store and the manager confirms they do have his wallet. We can't rejoice just yet, we have to make sure everything is still there which includes the Disney tickets. Thank God for the good in people! The wallet didn't have a thing missing! Those two incidents alone, renewed my faith in people! And even though I apparently sucked at keeping track of our valuables, I do a wonderful job of keeping track of our invaluable children! I'll take that job anyday!
